Skills / Eligibility

1. Post Name: Individual Consultant – Deputy Program Manager-Livelihood

2. Location: Bangalore, INDIA

3. Languages Required: English  

4. Duration of Initial Contract: One Year

5. Duties and Responsibilities:

i. Monitoring of the sanctioned Livelihood both farm and non-farm activities through regular field visits and periodic reviews.

ii. Support for roll out the livelihood activities.

iii. Rolling out certification in the clusters and facilitate technical support agencies in implementation.

iv. Continuously scout for opportunities by analyzing the potential for developing strategies value chain interventions for existing commodities being produced.

v. Maintain information regarding products of the SHG members, markets (prices and trends), and commodity-wise details.

vi. Executing capacity building plans for the project staff Community members on farm livelihoods and value chain development 

vii. Identify and document best practices

6. Required Skills and Experience: Fulltime Post Graduate Degree in Agricultural Science/Rural Development and Management/Social Sciences/ NGO Management from a recognized university.

7. Languages Required: Fluency in English and Kannada spoke, read and write for all official communications essential. Knowledge of English and Kannada typing is mandatory

8. Experience:

a. 2+ years in a livelihood development project both farm and non-farm responsible for the promotion of production systems and allied activities-based livelihoods

b. Should have handled procurement/marketing/supply chain social enterprises, in sub-sectors relevant to livelihood engagement e.g. microfinance, employment, entrepreneurship.

c. Experience of the roll-out of PGS or third-party certification with at least 100 farmers.

d. Experience in setting up systems and processes to make them effective.

e. Demonstrable experience of project management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programmers as well as managing internal learning processes across virtual teams

f. Experience in managing a team of minimum 5 field staffs

g. reviews, evaluations, and/or After Action Reviews.

9. Duration of The Work: The contract will be awarded for one year initially. Working days will be as per the State Government policy.

3. Educational Qualification 30 marks. 

4. Relevant Experience 40 marks.

5. Interview for 30 marks

6. Those who obtain a minimum of 70% of the total 70 marks (Educational Qualification & Relevant Experience) will be eligible to appear for the interview. 

7. Interview for the shortlisted candidates would be either conducted face to face in Bangalore or by telephone/over skype.

8. The contract shall be awarded on a merit basis.
